The Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) is an informal, voluntary, multilateral export control regime aimed at preventing the proliferation of missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and related technologies capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Unlike formal treaties, it operates as a political understanding among member states to regulate the transfer of dual-use technologies.

Dual_use_regulation: To manage the export of components and subsystems that have both civilian (e.g., space exploration) and military applications.

Stability_maintenance: To enhance global security by ensuring that sophisticated delivery systems do not fall into the hands of non-state actors or rogue states.

Proliferation_prevention: To restrict the flow of technologies that can be used to develop missiles or UAVs with a range of at least 300 km and a payload capacity of at least 500 kg.

Entry_year: India became a member of the MTCR in 2016.
